Spring is finally here!  I’m cleaning out the closets and transitioning my girls clothing into Spring pieces that are colorful and great for either cool or warm Spring days.  Last  winter my daughter received an outfit from Matilda Jane’s Paint by Numbers collection (review here).  It was truly her favorite outfit in her closet.  She was so excited when she received another outfit from Matilda Jane’s newest collection for Spring, It’s A Wonderful Parade!  Her outfit (pictured below) is adorable and perfect for Spring.  She is wearing:

  • The Cloudy Puffer Tee, made with super soft cotton top and has a 3/4 length ruffled sleeve.
  • Love Bug Knot Top, bright, fun, colors. Wear with the Puffer Tee underneath on the cooler days and without on the warmer days.  For the summer, it looks cute paired with denim shorts.
  • Sweet Heart Ruffled Leggings, sweet for a little girl. My daughter loves the hearts and ruffled ankle.  Made with soft cotton, not too heavy.

I love Matilda Jane Clothing because all their pieces are colorful and fun!  They are great quality.  I’m shocked with the amount of times my daughter wore her last outfit and the several times it’s been washed. There has been little fading but it still looks new.  The pieces are beautiful and will keep your little one looking like a little girl.  Some of our other favorites from the It’s A Wonderful Parade Collection include the Everything is Nice Dress, the All A Flutter Peasant Top, the Sorbet Circle Skirt, & the Bliss Shorties (pictured below left to right).

Celebrating The Launch of H&M’s Spring Collection! @hmusa #TSQSPRINGKIDSEVENT

I’ve always loved H&M, for myself and for my girls.  You can always find affordable styles for any occasion.  Over the weekend, my girls and I ventured up to Times Square to celebrate the launch of H&M’s Spring Collection for Kids. The event took place at the Flagship Store and was hosted by a good friend and fellow blogger, Brianne from Stroller in the City.

We could hear our favorite music playing and the energy pumping when we arrived.  Bite-sized snacks were passed; grilled cheese, hot dogs, pretzels and cheeseburgers, to name a few, but the favorite for my girls was the cotton candy machine. After a few snacks we made our way to the dance floor for a family dance contest.  Next, the girls headed to get their hands painted by Fantasy Face Painting and Balloons by Sharon. Funny, but we saw her at a party not long ago and she remembered my girls.  They were so excited to get more of her beautiful artwork.

After all the fun, we made our way upstairs to shop the collection.  I really wish we weren’t in a rush, we had to head to my daughters school fashion show, because the collection was awesome, it was hard to choose what to get for my girls.   If you haven’t made it to an H&M since the styles hit stores March 20, you have to stop by.  The new collection is fun, colorful, and most importantly affordable.  Cotton dresses in several prints start at $4.95 are fashionable yet great for play.  The new collection also features some pieces made from organic cotton.  I will definitely be going back for more. Visit HM.com to find out more and shop.

MD Anderson Children’s Art Project: Gifts That Keep Giving

9 Dec

20131209-120723.jpgTis’ the Season of Baking and Gingerbread House decorating!  Every year we make Gingerbread Houses and bake Holiday cookies for teachers, parties, friends, family, and Holiday dinners.  My mother-in-law loves to bake and my girls love baking with their Babcia (granny in Polish), especially my oldest.  Last Christmas, my oldest spent an entire afternoon cutting cookie dough, filling them with jam, and watching them bake in the oven with her Babcia.   This Holiday season my mother-in-law will be visiting and my oldest is ready to bake with Babcia.  It’s a great way for the girls to bond with their grandmother and they will have lasting memories, not to mention her cookies and cakes are AMAZING! My girls have been in the Christmas spirit for quite some time and are anxious to make Holiday cookies and decorate gingerbread houses. Our Elf on the Shelf, Snowflake, left adorable aprons and a santa plate designed by two pediatric patients at the MD Anderson Cancer (Children’s Art Project) Center along with an Elf on the Shelf Gingerbread House to use for their afternoons baking and decorating! What a great way to celebrate the holiday spirit!

20131209-103733.jpg

The Children’s Art Project began in 1973 at the MD Anderson Pediatric Cancer Center.  A volunteer had an idea to use a child’s artwork for a Holiday card.  Since then it has grown from Holiday cards to other products including decor, jewelry, stationary, iPhone covers, Christopher Radko ornaments, clothing and lots more.  This Holiday season you can purchase gifts that keep giving from the MD Anderson Cancer (Children’s Art Project) Center.  Through worldwide sales of young cancer patients’ original artwork featured on seasonal note cards and gift items, the project has returned more than $30 million to programs that benefit pediatric cancer patients and their families. The Children’s Art Project’s highest priority is ensuring young patients have opportunities to live a more normal childhood. Each year, the programs funded through sales touch more than 26,000 pediatric patients and families.  For more information about MD Anderson Cancer (Children’s Art Project) Center click the link or follow them on twitter and facebook.

Lotty Dotty: Unique Shirt Girls Will Love!

3 Sep

Picture 17

My girls love dolls.  I haven’t met many girls that don’t like dolls.   For my girls, one of their favorite activities is picking out what their doll is going to wear  whether they are dressing Barbie, an American Girl or one of their magnetic doll sets.  If you walk into their room they have dolls half-naked trying to figure out what outfit to dress them in next.   When we are out or traveling they use magnetic dress up activities to keep entertained. They love creating their own looks and love having their dolls dress for an occasion.

My daughter recently received a Lotty Dotty t-Shirt.  The t-shirt has a screen-print doll with a velcro body suit to attach interchangeable designer outfits.   Lotty Dotty shirts, available for both women and children, are very soft and comfortable. Lotty Dotty uses organic and recyclable materials as much as possible.  Choose your favorite doll and pick a few outfits to dress her up.  The gorgeous interchangeable outfits are created by talented and unknown designers worldwide.  Tote bags are also available with your favorite Lotty Dotty doll on the front.  Use them as a diaper bag, your child’s dance bag or carry your child’s favorite things while on-the-go or traveling.   They will love dressing up the doll.

When my daughter wore it out for the first time, she received many compliments and questions about where the shirt was from.  It is her favorite shirt for back-to-school.  She changes the two outfits multiple times a day.   Lotty Dotty clothing and accessories would make a wonderful gift for the holidays as well as upcoming birthday parties.

Women’s shirts cost $50 and come with one interchangeable outfit.  Additional outfits are available for $12-$15.  Children’s shirts cost $35 with an outfit included.  Additional outfits are available for $7-$18.  Tote bags cost $40. For more information, please visit www.lottydotty.com.

ValMax: The Perfect Party Dress

3 Jan

Picture 2

20121231-201644.jpgMy girls love every excuse to get dressed up in their best dresses.  They hear party and they run to their closet to pick out their fanciest attire.  The Holidays are usually their favorite time of year because they get to dress their best for family gatherings and parties.  This Holiday Season the girls dressed in dresses from ValMax, a luxury Italian children’s label that has been around for 53 years.  Their handmade clothing for girls 3-14 is simple, elegant, chic, and comfortable for little girls who love to dance the day away like mine do.  I was taken aback by the superb quality of the materials used and the beautiful styles of ValMax.  The dresses were true to size.  The purple dress was a size 6 and had a lot of room for my daughter to grow into it. The other dress was a size 4 (their actual size) and both my girls fit it perfectly.

ValMax is trying to enter a new era of the 21st century by implementing the trends while preserving their original vision, quality, creativity, style, and most of all their great tradition of Italian craftmanship. The inspiration for their collection comes from the lands of  Southern Italy, the love for color and the taste for richness in textures. The Autumn/ Winter 2012 collection features three themes:

  • Wishful Days combines pastels with hints of sage green, winter mocha and black and white Chanel-esque vintage tweeds.
  • First Bloom is everyday wear that makes a statement of individuality by using colors and prints to evoke the first blossoms of early spring.
  • Wonderland Blossom incorporates elegant occasion wear that features ultra light techno-silk combined with cashmere dresses and pleated shift dresses.

Just because the holidays are over, 2013 brings weddings and other special occasions that will need the perfect party dress from ValMax! Be on the lookout for the stunning Spring/Summer 2013 line for girls and a newly added line for boys.
