Lemons, Vodka, Pedicure?? I’ll Take All Three

Last year my brother-in-law gave me a gift certificate to Sweet Lily Natural Nail Spa, an all green spa, for my birthday.  I don’t get manicures or pedicures very often because I usually chip my nails within minutes of returning home to the girls.  A couple of weeks ago, I needed to get one for the wedding I was in so I gave Sweet Lily Natural Nail Spa a try.  The gift certificate was for a manicure and the Sweet and Simple Pedicure in a cucumber and peppermint aromatherapy bath.  I was a little hesitant  when I walked into the Salon and only saw arm chairs and bowls- a nail salon without spa baths..what?  It ended up being one of the best and most relaxing pedicures I have ever had. Upon entering I was offered, water, tea, or a glass of white wine while I looked for a neutral color for the wedding.  I ended up going with a french pedicure using Zoya Sabrina, a new favorite color that is formaldehyde, DBP, toluene and camphor free. A week and a half after getting the pedicure it still looks good.

What I loved about the salon:

  • It is very clean. They used sterilized, individually packaged tools.
  • They use all natural ingredients: fruit, vegetables, minerals and oils.
  • The staff was friendly and my technician asked me throughout my experience if I needed anything to make me comfortable.
  • The nail polish they use is toxin free, so I don’t have to worry if I take the girls for a special mani and pedi with mommy.

Why I can’t wait to go back (hint to my hubby since my birthday is just around the corner):

I loved my experience at Sweet Lily Natural Nail Spa. While I was getting my pedicure I was checking out the refreshing country/ cottage decor and saw a sign for their seasonal Lemon Vodka Pedicure.  The description on their website is: It’s flip flop season! Celebrate by dipping your digits into a cocktail of fresh sliced lemons with a splash of Voli ® Lemon Vodka. After filing and grooming cuticles, we’ll exfoliate heels to perfection using our lemon wedge sugar rub. Moisturize with a refreshing citrus foot massage and top it off with an application of your favorite summer polish. Now you’re ready to flaunt those pretty feet! Lemon Juice contains malic and citric acid, natural alphahydroxies that help to slough off dead skin cells. Vodka is a natural antiseptic and solvent good for cleansing feet. The  Lemon Vodka Pedicure is $68 and lasts 60 minutes.  It sounds wonderful and just what a tired, moms feet need after a long week chasing around little ones.

Sweet Lily Natural Nail Spa is located in TriBeca at 222 West Broadway.
